Hi, my name is Lynn M. Alcock, R.P.C.
I am a Registered Professional Counsellor
practicing in Canada’s
beautiful northern region,
Whitehorse, Yukon
I was born in Montreal, Canada and spent several years living in Europe and across Canada when my husband was in the Armed Forces. We eventually settled in Whitehorse and have made it our home for the past 25 years.
Most of my adult life was spent working in administrative and financial positions both in public and private agencies. In 1996, I was diagnosed with Clinical Depression, and my life changed drastically and profoundly. I went to a professional counsellor to assist me in dealing with my illness and to help me on the road to my recovery. In doing so I found a new purpose for my life. I returned to do post-graduate work as a professional counsellor. I so much wanted to help others as I had been helped. I have never looked back. After graduating I worked in private practice as well as for governments, agencies and First Nations delivering individual, couple and family counselling, life skills workshops and healing programs.
I am a firm believer in holistic healing and use a variety of skills and tools to meet each client’s needs. I am also an Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) practitioner and will introduce energy healing as needed. For more information on EFT, click here.
I know the pain and frustration of unresolved emotional issues and mental illness intimately, and rejoice when I can help others through their difficulties and improve their quality of life.
